2.    Detective Comics (1937 - Present):



    
This DC Comics title originally featured various detective stories before becoming the ongoing series for Batman in 1939. "Detective Comics" boasts over 1000 issues, making it the longest-running American comic book series overall.

3.    X-Men (1963 - Present):
